1. Quickstart Overview
ChatBrowser is an AI agent that does multi-step tasks in a real Google Chrome browser for you. You chat with it in Chrome's side panel, and it works on your own private cloud computer, so tasks and automations keep running even when your own computer is off.
How it operates:
- Chrome extension: Chat in the side panel, use the floating robot, or say "Hey Robot".
- Cloud computer: Each task runs in a real Chrome on your private cloud computer. Watch it live on the Computer page.
- Intelligent Vision: It reads the page, finds buttons and input fields, clicks, types, and scrolls.
- Safe Handoff: Whenever passwords, payments, or OTPs appear, it pauses and invites you to complete the step.
2. Install the Chrome extension
Works in Chrome 120 or later on macOS, Windows, Linux and ChromeOS.
1. Download the ChatBrowser extension and unzip it.
2. Open chrome://extensions and turn on Developer mode.
3. Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder, then click the ChatBrowser icon in the toolbar.
3. Sign in & your cloud computer
Click Sign in in the side panel. A ChatBrowser tab opens; click Allow and you are connected. Each Chrome profile signs in separately and shows up under Signed-in Chrome profiles on your dashboard, where you can sign it out at any time.
Good to know
- Tasks run in a separate browser on your cloud computer, not in your own tabs. Sites you use there need to be signed in once; ChatBrowser hands the login screen to you.
- Your passwords are never typed by the assistant.
- The cloud computer time included in your plan is shown on the Usage page.
4. Commanding the Assistant
You can give natural English commands in the composer input at the bottom of the ChatBrowser window. ChatBrowser understands URLs, search queries, multi-step actions, and data transformations.

"Open this registration form, fill my name as 'Alex Morgan', email 'alex@example.com', and stop before hitting submit."

5. Safe Human Handoff Protocol
Safety is built into the core architecture of ChatBrowser. The AI will never attempt to guess or enter your passwords, read two-factor authentication codes, or submit financial transactions without your direct interaction.
Triggers for Safe Human Handoff:
- Password / Sign-in Screens: Assistant halts so you can enter credentials or biometric Touch ID / Windows Hello.
- CAPTCHA / Cloudflare Challenges: Assistant pauses for you to complete puzzle verification.
- 2FA / SMS Verification Codes: Protects your private identity.
- Credit Card & Payment Gates: Ensures no unauthorized orders or subscriptions are placed.
6. Google Drive & Sheets Integration
Pro plan users can link their Google account to grant ChatBrowser access to search Drive documents and read or write Google Sheets.
How to Connect:
- Navigate to your Dashboard.
- In the Google Drive & Sheets card, click Connect Google Account.
- Consent to the read/write scopes requested by ChatBrowser.
- Select your default write policy: Ask before updating or Auto-update allowed.
Sample Prompts:
- "Search my Google Drive for 'Q3 financial summary' and extract the revenue numbers."
- "Extract the table of phone models on this site and append them into my Google Sheet named 'Price Tracker'."
7. Scheduled Background Automations
ChatBrowser supports recurring unattended tasks. Create automations in the web dashboard or the Chrome extension. They run on your cloud computer on schedule, even when your own computer is off.
Schedule Options:
- Interval: Every 15 minutes, hourly, every 6 hours, etc.
- Daily: Every day at a specified time (e.g. 09:00 AM).
- Weekly: On specific days of the week.
You can configure an optional notification email. When the automation finishes, ChatBrowser emails you a concise markdown summary of the findings or actions completed.
8. Tokens & AI Models
Token usage tracks the computation consumed by LLM reasoning, DOM tree inspections, and vision processing.

Using fewer tokens on repeated tasks
- Saved Skills: after a task succeeds, its steps are saved. Running the same task again replays them without the AI. If the site changed, the AI fixes the Skill automatically.
- Automations: choose "Saved Skill + short AI result" (a few thousand tokens) or "Saved Skill only" (0 tokens).
- Limits: set a per-task token limit, a daily cap and a monthly cap per automation on the Usage page.
- Pro and Business use Gemini Pro, which counts 3x per token. Use Flash for simple tasks.
Tokens reset on the 1st of every calendar month. Paid plans can be upgraded or canceled at any time from your dashboard.
9. Troubleshooting & FAQ
Sign-in doesn't finish or the panel says I'm signed out
Click Sign in again and press Allow on the ChatBrowser tab. Each Chrome profile signs in on its own. If it keeps failing, make sure the extension is up to date and that nothing blocks browser.autobot360.com.
Can I use ChatBrowser on multiple computers or Chrome profiles?
Yes. Install the extension in each Chrome profile and sign in with the same account. Tokens, chats and automations are shared, and each profile appears on your dashboard so you can sign it out.
